Throwback Thursday: Royal London
By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be sitting on a plane to London (yay!). I haven’t been on a plane in over a year and I’m even more excited to be going to London to see a friend and to explore the city.
The above picture above was taken in June 2011 on the last day of my Erasmus semester in the Canterbury. The reason most people know of Hampton Court, is because Henry VIII lived there and he famously took the palace away from Thomas Wolsey after its completion. What I didn’t know when I visited the castle is that several other monarchs lived in Hampton Court and extended the palace so that the front is now distinctly Tudor architecture, while the back is Baroque. If you are ever in London and have exhausted all that you want to see in the city, Hampton Court is definitely worth a visit.
